Storage $

Description

The Storage service is a service for storing any files.

To access it, select the "Media" section in the side menu, the necessary "Storage" subsection is located in the top submenu.

When you click on it for the first time, you are required to initialize the service by clicking on the "Initialize" button.

The Storage page

The Storage page is logically divided into two parts: the top menu and the list of files/directories.

In the top menu, you can see the current directory (and go to any of its parent items), open the file upload widget and the create new directory widget, update the file list, see the volume of used and available space, and open the change available space widget by clicking on the plus icon.

The file list is a table, which you can sort by any of the available columns: Name, Creation date, Size and Expiration date (date and time of file expiration, after which it will be deleted; learn more about this in the description of the "DVR and Stream Recording" service).

In the last column, opposite each folder, there are buttons for moving, renaming, downloading (where applicable) and deleting files or directories.

When you click on the file name hyperlink, you either get to the View file page (in case of video), or go directly to downloading the file.

The View file page

The View file page is logically divided into several parts:

  1. player, choice of its template, its embed code, links for viewing and/or downloading video; This page also displays links for viewing using streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH).

    Important!

We don`t support the Fragmented MP4 container for viewing using streaming protocols. You can check the file container with the command MP4Box -info test.mp4

  2. file transcoding and cutting features $

To transcode a video (file or stream) into an MP4 file, you need to select the necessary settings (format, codec and resolution). You can select multiple sets of settings: in this case you will get several resulting files corresponding to the number of selected sets of settings. Also you can choose if you want resulting files to be added to the current file as qualities or to be saved separately.

To cut a video (file or stream) and get the result in the format of an MP4 file, you need to select the limits of the necessary time interval, this time interval will be presented in the resulting files.

    Attention

If you select both transcoding and cutting, the result will be N transcoded cut files, where N is the number of sets of settings you have selected for transcoding.

If you have chosen to save resulting files separately or have set up cutting limits, you can choose path which resulting files will be saved to.

    Attention

By default, the resulting transcoding and cut files will appear in the same directory as the original file.

By default, the "Send email notification on success" flag is activated; in this case we will send you and your colleagues a notification by email after the transcoding or cutting of the file with download links is completed. If this is not required, deactivate it.

  3. qualities list with detailed information on video and audio streams (only for MP4 files)

  4. form to select a player template and change its parameters
